Fingerstyle Guitar Standards PDF: 15 Classic Songs Arranged for Solo Guitar. Bill Piburn is a wonderful arranger. He has a true gift for creating solo guitar arrangements that capture the essence of the song and exploit the guitar as an instrument. Lots of great and familiar tunes are here, so these would be excellent choices for entertaining listeners that like good stuff they have heard before, not the latest fancy tapping, etc.
Great selection of songs. The book is for the intermediate to advanced player. Contains tablature as well as standard notation. The CD is great to listen to by itself and the book is a great source to lean some impressive fingerstyle jazz.
An advance player can sight read most of this. It's not beginner, but more probably falls at the middle grades of formal lesson programs, probably grade 4 - 6. There is virtually no 'advanced' technique used, though some of it moves quickly. It seems intended to provide reasonable arrangements of recognizable songs that were not written for guitar, without getting too extreme.
