La Guitarra Flamenca de Chicuelo DVD download. Juan Gomez “Chicuelo” , born 1968 in Barcelona, is not only an outstanding flamenco guitarist but also one of the most prolific and exciting composer of his generation. He has worked with the greatest flamenco dancers and singers.
In this DVD he plays and explains his best compositions for solo playing and dance accompaniment. The rhythmically remarkable Taranto por Rumba or the wonderful Silencio in the Alegria are just two of the numerous highlights on this DVD.
Although he worked with a wide range of artists, Chicuelo is usually accompanied by the singer Miguel Poveda and singer Duquende, with whom he has toured extensively in Europe, Japan and the US and made many recordings with. He has also been musical director of Compagnie de Danse Japonaise Shohi Kojima since 1992, and musical director of the Somorrostro Dansa Flamenca with choreographer Javier Latorre since 2003.
