La Guitarra Flamenca de Moraito

La Guitarra Flamenca de Moraito

Apr 11, 2023

Moraito, the most important representative of the modern school of Jerez and undoubtedly one of the best accompanying guitarists for cante, plays and explains in the first part of this video five selected pieces from his repertoire: two Bulerias, Sevillanas, Tangos and Vals-Bulerias.
The second part is devoted to Moraito's speciality: together with singer Fernando Terremoto Moraito focusses on basic principles and difficulties of the accompaniment of cante using Malaguenas, Seguiriyas and Tientos/Tangos. Fernando Terremoto, son of the legendary cantaor Terremoto, is gifted with one of the most outstanding flamenco voices of the young flamenco generation. In this video he gives ample proof that he lives up to his nickname Terremoto, "Earthquake": his cante is an expression of unique profundity, overwhelming and subtle at the same time. For the first time, a video affords advanced guitarists an insight into a not easily accessible sphere of the flamenco guitar: the great art of accompaniment of cante. Original tabs book included, format PDF.
