Mastery of the Flamenco Guitar Series with Guillermo Rios Vol 1 - 3
Mastery of the Flamenco Guitar Series with Guillermo Rios Volume 1, 2, 3 download free. Vol. I- 16 sessions covering essential basic techniques as well as Alegrias, Tangos, Bulerias & Siguiriyas.
Vol. II- Soleares & Alegrias with explanation of rhythmic and harmonic structure as well as compositional possibilities. This DVD is filmed with 2 camera angles to watch both hands at once.
Vol. III "Toques Libres"- The non-rhythmic Flamenco tradition. This covers Malaguenas, Mineras, Rondenas, Granadinas & Tarantas. This DVD is filmed with 2 camera angles to watch both hands at once. The guitars used on Volume 3 are made by Archangel Fernandez, Madrid and Dale Foye, California.
All three DVDs have an accompanying booklet.
Guillermo Rios has since then performed with Jose Greco, Maria Benitez, Jose Molina, Maria Alba & Rosa Montoya. He also has performed in solo concerts at Carnegie Hall 3 times.
Guillermo Rios is one of the few world class Flamenco Guitarists who has studied with Spanish masters in the Golden Era of the 1970's. He is also probably the only guitarist to play a Solea in other keys than E and A (Solea por Buleria). This invaluable attribute is to be found on Volume II. You truly can learn everything from him. There is such a proliferation of Flamenco guitar instructional material available today, that distributors, in many cases, are offering new arrivals that are quoting Brazilian guitarists as their maestros (ex. Aaron Gilmartin). "No hay nada que ver con la musica Flamenca"-that's Spanish for "That has nothing to do with Flamenco music".
