William Bay – Classics For Flatpicking Guitar
Jul 10 2020

William Bay Classics For Flatpicking Guitar PDF. A collection of classical pieces arranged for flatpicking guitar, together with a few modern flatpicking originals in the classical style by William Bay. Includes works by J.S. Bach, Dowland, Handel, Krieger, Mouret, Playford, Praetorius, Quantz, Rameau, Sanz, and St. Jacome, as well as music by a couple of anonymous Renaissance lutenists-21 pieces in all. All selections appear in standard notation and tablature with fingering and suggested guitar chords when appropriate. The companion CD includes all of the selections in the book.
This is really for intermediate pickers. The arrangements are simple, but not too easy to play. Beginners could probably do half of these with some effort but it really helps if you already know your way around chords and picks. Some of the songs here are rather unknown but others will be recognizable to your audience from weddings, commercials, and background music. It is a nice break from bluegrass and blues. The CD that comes with it is very, very helpful in giving you timing and a good grasp on the tune but it does NOT have any instruction on it. In fact, there is no instruction in the book at all: just music, tab, and titles. That’s really enough.
