Joe Bell Improvising Jazz Guitar PDF. A step-by-step guide to jazz guitar improvisation. Melodic and harmonic concepts are introduced through exercises in modal jazz, the II-V progression, scales, and more, standard notation, tablature, fingerings, chord diagrams. Explanations are clear and easy to follow. It gives you many hours of fun and entertainment. It mixes theory explanation with exercises. Standard score is used, with accompanying tab. An accompanying CD or, better still, midi files for the exercises would make the book a lot more useful. Strength of the title is in the blues-to-jazz exercises in the opening chapters, and the extensive discussions of the II-V-I (and others).
