The Ultimate Drummers Weekend 10

The Ultimate Drummers Weekend is the largest drum festival held in Australia. TUDW celebrated its 10th anniversary with an all-star roster featuring the Dave Weckl Band, John Tempesta, Dom Famularo, and a host of international drummers including hometown favorite Virgil Donati.

Recording quality, festival footage and user options, though not quite up to current hi-tech standards, are nonetheless adequate. The Dave Weckl and Virgil Donati workshops are the most entertaining and educational here. The 11th-anniversary disc closely follows the format of the 10th-anniversary show, featuring a slew of international players, many from Australia. Headlining artists included Thomas Lang, John Blackwell Jr. and Jimmy DiGrasso. If you’re interested in digging deeper into the talents of the international drumming community, then you’ll find these DVDs a worthwhile purchase.
