National Piping Centre – The Highland Bagpipe Tutor Book 1

Produced by the National Piping Centre (Glasgow), this substantial full-colour step-by-step guide is ideally suited to the beginner piper. Compiled with the experience of the staff at the Piping Centre, the tutor book introduces music theory and the basic repertoire of ‘light music’. A very detailed instructional book, appealing for young beginners, but also a rigorous tutor suitable for adult students. As well as tunes, the book contains extensive exercises, teachers’ resources and some basic information about starting on the pipes.
The CDROM with video and audio tracks can used to view the tunes as you play, and print out progress report sheets. Tune tempos can be slowed down as desired. The Piobmaster Player is used to demonstrate excercises and tunes, and the CD can also be played on a standard CD player to hear the audio content.
Please note that you will need to download a patch for the CDROM to work on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and 8. Also, PiobMaster is not compatible with these Windows versions.
