Learn the essential patterns that all great guitarists know and use! This book/CD pack will have you playing lead and rhythm anywhere on the fretboard, in any key. You’ll learn chord-based licks, moveable major and blues scales, major pentatonic “sliding scales,” first-position major scales, and moveable-position major scales. The book includes easy-to-follow diagrams and instructions for beginning, intermediate and advanced players. The CD includes 41 demonstration tracks to help you perfect your new skills.
This book helps get you soloing and teaches what to play when it’s your turn. It not only gives you the scales but how they are formed and where they are derived from, so that you can easily repeat them in every key.
Excellent source for learning the fretboard above the 5th fret. This guy plays multiple stringed instruments. This is a good learning aid when trying to pick up this style of music playing. Some of the lessons are quick and don’t really go in-depth in explaining what some of the vocab is referring to. Teaches pertinent scale patterns along with song uses of the scales which is a big help. The approach is smart and considered by many to be the best approach to learn the right way! Excellent scale book. Good for all scale fundamentals. This book will be in your reference library for scales for a long time.
