Donald James Ross, commonly known as Don Ross, is a Canadian fingerstyle guitarist noted for the emotion and intensity of his playing as well as his use of extended technique. Ross’s music borrows from blues, jazz, folk and classical music creating a style that he describes as “heavy wood”.
Step into the expansive world of fingerstyle guitar taught by one of the finest players ever to grace the instrument. A basic knowledge of chords is recommended.
Don Ross is a formidable guitarist and an outstanding teacher. On this video he demonstrates the proper use of the right hand and introduces us to the G, Dropped D, Double Dropped D and DADGAD tunings. Along the way we gain an understanding of Travis Picking, Chord Harmony, as well as various Chord fingerings.
