Recent honors include an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Oklahoma City University and in 2000 Mason was officially designated the Musician Laureate for the State of Oregon.
This celebratory folio features a bumper selection of the classical guitar star’s all-time favourite arrangements and compositions. Not only does the collection offer some sumptuous solos for the accomplished classical guitarist, but seven further pieces have been included for guitar duet, guitar trio and guitar with flute or violin.
Every piece included in this anthology has been presented on an accompanying CD, performed by the man himself! Furthermore, fans of Mason Williams will be delighted to discover a biography of the virtuoso alongside countless details concerning his awards, performances, other projects, TV appearances and much more.
Highly recommend to anyone who loves music, real music. And this is something you can always refer to over and over. If you like Mason’s music and want to play some of his classics, this video is a must. Mason originally called the piece Classical Gasoline, because he thought of it as fuel for a classical repertoire. It has a natural progression in the melody and harmony where as you become more proficient you see more clearly how he put it together and where the music is going and how to achieve the best sound.
