This DVD will help to learn to play slap technique. Includes 4 technology as the complexity. The first chapter explains the main methods of playing slap. Second - fingering, third "flamenco style" and the fourth "the mechanism of four movements" (author's personal technique). 
At last, bass players around the world are allowed a rare, in-depth look into the style and technique of one of the most influential electric bassists of our time. In a logical step-by-step approach, Tower of Power bassist Francis Rocco Prestia clearly explains his percussive "ghosting & muting" techniques and demonstrates the importance of a "balanced" bass line. 
This video in the series concentrates on the Red Hot Chili Peppers bass guitarist Flea and he is interviewed for the program by his fellow musician and close friend, River. The program is interspersed throughout with recordings of Flea playing musical pieces on his bass guitar accompanied on the drums by Chad Smith.
Dave LaRue is one of today’s leading bassists, recording and touring with the Steve Morse Band and Dixie Dregs for nearly 20 years. His incredible technique and finesse of the bass make him the first-call for well-known artists, and he has also established himself as a regular columnist for Bass Player magazine, touring clinician, and adjunct professor at Florida’s Stetson University. 
This DVD is a companion to the popular Alfred Publishing Book/CD of the same name dealing with traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms and their application to funk, rock, and jazz. It features bassist, author, composer, and music educator Lincoln Goines, well known for his work in the New York City Latin, jazz-funk, and studio scene. And drummer Robby Ameen, who has made a life-long study of Afro-Cuban rhythms. Also appearing on the DVD is Wayne Krantz on guitar and Bill O'Connell on keyboard. 
Widely regarded as one of the finest bassists of his generation, Jaco Pastorius combined remarkable technique and singular tone with an adventurous and highly melodic approach to his instrument, and his work with Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, and Joni Mitchell earned praise from musicians, critics, and fans before his tragic death in 1987.
