Bass Day 1997 - Highlights Bass Day '97 was a historic event organized by the Bass Collective NYC and Bass Player Magazine. Already announced as an annual affair, the inaugural Bass Day brought together world class bassists, equipment manufacturers, bass students, and bass fans from all over the globe for unforgettable, all-day show that included clinics, demonstrations, interviews and all-star jam session.

Bass Day Highlights contains perfomances, instructional material, and post- clinic comments from all 6 Bass Day clinicians, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at 10 incredible hours the bass world will never forget. Included are jazz virtuoso John Patitucci on acoustic bass and 6-string electric bass in quartet and duo settings; rock innovator Billy Sheehan demonstrating his techniques; studio legend Tony Levin performing on Chapman Stick; acoustic bass masters Rufus Reid and Michael Moore in duet; first-call Nashville session bassist Dave Pomeroy singing and playing his 5-string, fretless, and electric upright basses; amazing Allman Brothers 6 string bassist Oteil Burbridge both solo and supported by Dave Pomeroy and Reggie Washington; and an epic All-Star Jam featuring Patitucci, Sheehan, Levin, Burbridge, Pomeroy and Washington.
